This year at Word on the Wash, we shall be having two seminars.

Our main speaker, Luke Foster, will be looking at the life and influence of William Tyndale, whose 1526 New Testament was the first English translation to be made from the original Greek, at a time when translating the Bible into ordinary, everyday language was forbidden.

Elaine Storkey, who is an experienced writer and speaker in relating the Christian gospel to contemporary culture, will be speaking at this years Word on the Wash. She will be giving a seminar titled ‘The challenges of idolatry and post-truth: being faithful to Christ in a post-Christian culture’.
Elaine has many years’ experience of teaching in British universities and overseas. She was President of Tear Fund, a member of High Table at Newham College, Cambridge, and one of the founders of the postgraduate Christian Mind Course at Oxford. She has been one of the longest-serving members of the Church of England’s General Synod (28 years), and is on numerous boards, councils and working parties which address the interface of culture and Christianity.
