Steve Auld hails originally from Caledon, Co. Tyrone and was brought up in a Christian home.
He made a simple commitment to follow Jesus when he was very young but only seriously started to own this commitment for himself when he was around seventeen years of age.
He studied Social Anthropology and Philosophy at Queens University in Belfast while leading a small student bible study in the house he shared.
Alongside this Steve played rugby at various levels and had the privilege of playing for the Irish U19 team in the U19 rugby world cup.
In 2005 after a short stint working for the Ulster Bank Steve became the youth worker in Elmwood Presbyterian Church in Lisburn, where he served for four years. In the midst of those years Steve married Lynsey who was just finishing her degree in fine and applied art at Belfast Art College. In 2009 Steve and Lynsey left Northern Ireland and served as missionaries in Northern Madagascar from 2009-2011. Then from 2011-2014 Steve studied for his M.Div at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Chicago, U.S.A. and during this time Lynsey gave birth to Hudson in Feb 2011 and Elliot in May 2012. In the midst of his final year Steve was called to serve at Eden Baptist Church in Cambridge as assistant pastor and took up his responsibilities in August 2014. During this time in February 2016 Steve and Lynsey’s little daughter Grace was born. It was in the Spring of 2017 when the Auld family moved back to Northern Ireland to serve in the city of Belfast at Great Vic.
Steve is passionate about living life to the full and enjoys wrestling with his boys and playing with Grace. He enjoys eating manly food, rugby, fishing and reading.
